Developmental Disabilities II (DDII)
Course Description
Staff attending Developmental Disabilities II will develop a basic understanding of assisting individuals and their families in making person centered choices, as well as, helping them to determine what individual-directed, outcome-oriented planning is and what goals they want to accomplish during the year. One will understand the importance of community integration and inclusion and how they can be our consumers’ connection to the community. Staff will also learn about the aging process; along with, how to support individuals to encourage them to maintain their independence for as long as possible. They will understand the importance of proper documentation and the steps required to have a behavior plan implemented. This course meets the DDA requirements and is taught through videos, lecture, discussions, and activities.
