Developmental Disabilities III (DDIII)
Course Description
Developmental Disabilities III focuses on fundamental rights and the “Circles” program. This training session provides staff with a foundation as to what one has the right to do, as well as their responsibilities to their job, workplace, or a particular group. Role-playing is conducted to help participants understand the importance of fundamental rights. The “Circles” program teaches individuals how to maintain interpersonal relationships. Learning to say, “STOP” if someone touches them and they do not want to be touched. This program is taught to all of our consumers at Penn-Mar and employees are encouraged to review the program with consumers on an as need basis. This course meets the DDA requirements and is taught through lecture, role-playing, discussions, and activities.
