- conducting formal assessments of an individual’s current vocational skill level to determine appropriate placement and employment potential.
- encouraging development of vocational skills with local businesses and preparing qualified individuals for placement in supported and competitive employment.
- developing employment skills through individualized outcome/goal planning while offering an integrated work environment with payment of competitive wages.
- meeting the needs of adults requiring more intensive support through the adult developmental training program. This program focuses on teaching participants skills through structured activities in areas such as: personal hygiene, daily living, mobility, and communication. Additional opportunities for social development are provided through participation in community and recreational activities.
- offering two different settings in order to customize service based on the strengths, needs and preferences of the participants.
- The Maryland Line facility provides opportunities to develop appropriate workplace behavior by teaching social and communication skills. The emphasis is on vocational training and jobs involving light assembly. Less focus is placed on meeting production deadlines.
- The Glen Rock facility concentrates on skill development, earnings potential, quality of finished product and working in an integrated work environment with both disabled and non-disabled adults. Individuals often perform more complex production-related duties requiring advanced skills in the areas of counting, packaging, sorting and labeling.
