PROGRAMS

Southern Community Services offers various programs throughout the year to assist eligible families. Please call (717) 227-0048 for more information and to determine eligibility.

Free Monthly Food Distribution: The 4th Wednesday of every month except November and December groceries are available to qualifying individuals and families. Food is distributed from Penn-Mar’s Glen Rock facility at 10671 Susquehanna Trail.

Back to School: Since education provides a solid foundation for future success, we believe all children should be prepared to succeed in school. Backpacks and school supplies are available to children from K-12 on a first come first serve basis. To sign-up for this program, call the SCS office beginning in July.

Thanksgiving Food Baskets: Through the support of local community members and businesses, food is available for the Thanksgiving Holiday. To sign-up for services, call the SCS office beginning in October.

Holiday Share: Through the generosity of local community members and businesses, food and gifts are available during the December Holiday season. To sign-up for services, call the SCS office beginning in October.

Angel Food Ministries: SCS is now participating with the Angel Food Minisitries. Angel Food Ministries provides food relief to families who may be struggling financially. To learn more about this organization please go to the Angel Food Ministries website.
