POOLED ASSET TRUST
With the adoption of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation act of 1993, a vehicle was created and allowed to permit persons with disabilities to maintain assets within a pooled asset trust. This arms-length trust, while permitting the expenditure of a person’s pooled asset resources for life enhancements (non- food, shelter or clothing items) protected the person’s continued eligibility for public assistance payments (e.g. SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.).
Penn-Mar Organization is but one agency, of only very few qualified nationwide, to offer a pooled asset option for eligible participants. For further information and guidance, call Keith R. Peterson, CEO or Judy Bobby, Executive Secretary for assistance with questions.
