POOLED ASSET TRUST
With the adoption of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation act of 1993, a vehicle was created to permit persons with disabilities to maintain assets within a pooled asset trust. This arms-length trust, while permitting the expenditure of a person’s pooled asset resources for life enhancements (non-food, shelter or clothing items) protects the person’s continued eligibility for public assistance payments (e.g. SSI, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.)
Penn-Mar Human Services is one, of only very few qualified agencies nationwide, who offers a pooled asset option for eligible participants. For further information and guidance, call Keith R. Peterson, CEO or Judy Bobby, Executive Secretary for assistance with questions.
