Career Ladders – Advancing Professionalism. Creating Careers.

The better we do, the better we become. So Penn-Mar initiated the Career Ladder program to hone the careers of our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) by providing an opportunity for them to achieve nationally recognized credentials that embrace the knowledge, skills, and values of this profession and bind them in ethical practice.

Credentialing creates opportunity for:

  • Recognition for performing important work
  • Wage enhancements that reward professionalism

By developing standards that lead to professional credentialing and commensurate compensation, Penn-Mar is leading national efforts to provide high quality training and opportunities for DSPs. The Penn-Mar mission of transforming lives will be enhanced by DSPs with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to support each individual’s preferences and personal goals.
