RESIDENTIAL

PENNSYLVANIA RESPITE

If you are caring for a family member with a developmental disability in your home, who provides care when emergencies occur or you need some time away? Penn-Mar offers respite services for people of all ages with developmental disabilities.

The goal of the respite program is to provide a homelike residence where individuals and their families can be assured that quality care is provided during short-term stays. We will ensure active participation in typical daily activities by providing opportunities for community outings, transportation to and from adult day and vocational programs and assistance in basic self-care. Individuals still in school will continue to attend as scheduled and Penn-Mar will contact the school district regarding transportation.

The staff is made up of trained professionals ready to provide quality service. Nursing staff is on-call to provide consultation in emergency situations.

Services are provided to qualified residents of York and Adams counties. The home is located in Jefferson, conveniently located about 15 miles from both York and Hanover to serve a wide geographic area.

Placement is coordinated through York/Adams Mental Health/Mental Retardation. If you are interested in respite services, please contact your supports coordinator.
