– Current Penn-Mar Employee Jennifer Hobbs to Assume New Leadership Position –

February 7, 2025

Baltimore – Penn-Mar Human Services, the region’s leading provider of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), is excited to announce the creation of a new executive position, Chief Development and Marketing Officer (CDMO). To serve in this exciting new position, Penn-Mar has appointed current employee and Director of Marketing and Communications, Jennifer Hobbs, who has been with the nonprofit for more than seven years.

As CDMO, Hobbs is responsible for leading the strategy, as well as a team of highly dedicated professionals, to advance the mission of Penn-Mar through philanthropy, public awareness, and technology. From a revenue and funding standpoint, the CDMO is charged with sustaining and growing revenues from all constituents, including individual donors, corporate and foundation giving, and special events. Hobbs will also engage with key supporters through cultivation and stewardship efforts, further growing the Penn-Mar community.

On the marketing side, Hobbs will drive Penn-Mar’s communications strategy to enhance the nonprofit’s public profile, advocate for its mission and for the IDD community, and support initiatives across donor engagement, talent acquisition, and consulting services. She will oversee the development of Penn-Mar’s comprehensive marketing and public relations strategy that strengthens the organization’s brand both internally and externally, while setting the strategic direction for the development, marketing, and communications teams to achieve annual goals aligned with Board priorities and Penn-Mar’s overall strategic plan.

As Penn-Mar CEO Greg Miller shares, Hobbs is a perfect fit for the new role and will make an immediate impact, just as she has done since her first day with the organization.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jenn since 2017 and she has been a vital part of the tremendous growth Penn-Mar has enjoyed in the past few years,” says Miller. “Not only has she embraced our culture, but helped shape it, and she consistently brings in fresh ideas and insights to keep evolving and moving our mission forward. We’re known for never sitting still and always reaching for greater success, and Jenn is the epitome of that effort.”

Hobbs has been a professional within the IDD field for over 13 years, working with Pathfinders for Autism prior to Penn-Mar. She says this expanded role will offer her the opportunity to have an even greater strategic impact and will enable her to spend more time building relationships with people who share her passion for Penn-Mar’s mission.

But she is quick to add that without a doubt, her fondness for Penn-Mar has been, and remains, its community.

“There is something about the team at Penn-Mar, and especially the people we support and their families, that makes our community so exceptional,” says Hobbs. “I am especially excited about the opportunity to more deeply connect with our local communities, continue enhancing internal communications so our team is equipped to provide the best support possible, and share even more stories of impact that demonstrate why Penn-Mar’s services are not just critically important but are often life-changing.”

For more information, please contact Roger Mecca at roger@vitaminisgood.com.

About Penn-Mar Human Services

Penn-Mar Human Services is a nonprofit that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to Live Courageously, whether that’s securing a job, being an active member of their community, building independence, or developing new relationships. Penn-Mar accomplishes this by supporting people on their own unique personal journeys.
