2020 Black Tie Gala Yields Unprecedented Results
The 28th Annual Black Tie Gala held on March 7th saw a record crowd of attendees, sponsors, and revenue – and all just one week prior to the world coming to a pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All of us at Penn-Mar are enormously grateful and humbled by the show of support before, during, and post gala. In fact, the generosity of donors has continued long after the playing of the final song by event band, Spectrum, as revenue for the event has surpassed $775,000!
The Live and Silent Auctions raised nearly $130,000 in revenue, and the Special Appeal (which honored Patty Larrick – one of the first individuals to be supported by Penn-Mar and one of the first to be employed in the community where she worked for KELLY Benefits for over 30 years) continues to grow with nearly $285,000 in gifts! We are especially appreciative of this year’s Distinguished Humanitarian Award recipients, Senator Frank & Janet Kelly, and their four sons, Frank III, John, David & Bryan Kelly. The Kelly family has a long history of servant leadership and selfless support of many worthwhile organizations in the community, including Penn-Mar.
We also presented this year’s Impact Award to Steve and Jill Golueke for their more than 20 years of service to our organization, which they continue to champion today. This annual, signature event would not be possible without the dozens of volunteers behind the scenes – a very special Thank You to our fabulous Black Tie Committee and Penn-Mar Team Volunteers!
As our world, communities, and families grapple with COVID-19, Penn-Mar is no exception. Thankfully your generosity at our Black Tie Gala allows us to provide emergency financial support to our most critical workforce, who are charged with caring for a particularly vulnerable community during uncertain times. THANK YOU!
