There are a variety of ways to support the Penn-Mar Foundation, and you may direct your gift to the initiatives that are most meaningful to you.
The Penn-Mar Foundation supports the mission of Penn-Mar Human Services by securing the financial resources needed to provide innovative and high-quality supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Designated Gifts
Gifts to the General Endowment provides us the flexibility we need to fuel innovation, enabling us to carry out critical and unique programs.
Gifts to the Michael James Pitts Endowment for the Advancement of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) funds our renowned Career Ladders Program, in which participating DSPs complete education, receive nationally recognized credentials, and are awarded performance-based incentive pay.
Gifts to the Zgorski Family Endowment for the Staff Training and Aid Fund support various programs for DSPs as well as resources for people supported by Penn-Mar Human Services who do not have enough personal funds to cover the expenses associated with community-based activities.
Gifts to the Team Member Care Fund provide emergency financial relief to DSPs and other non-managerial team members when they experience an unexpected financial hardship.
Planned Gifts
The Penn-Mar Legacy Society is a group of dedicated individuals and families that have invested in the future of Penn-Mar and the individuals we support by making a planned gift to the organization.
Joining is easy – you simply need to name The Penn-Mar Foundation as a beneficiary in your will, trust, insurance policy, real estate, donor-advised fund, retirement plan, or other asset. Your gift can be anonymous, or with your permission, we would love to publicly acknowledge your commitment.
We have a fully comprehensive Guide to Planned Giving, which may help you discover effective ways to make a planned gift.
If you are contemplating joining the Legacy Society, our Advancement Department would be happy to help you determine ways to maximize tax breaks and make charitable donations in your estate plans, while still providing for your family, as well as share with you the Legacy Society membership benefits.
