Amanda Otto received the MACS (Maryland Association of Community Services) 2016 Employee Achievement Award. Amanda was nominated for her hard work and dedication to Pet Smart and ShopRite over the past 16 years.

For the past 16 years, Amanda Otto has been channeling her love of animals through her job at Pet Smart in Timonium. Amanda has spent most of her years working in the fish department. In addition to stocking the shelves with fish supplies, when the Beta fish come in, Amanda is responsible for getting fresh water and separating the fish for display. When customers want a fish, Amanda helps by getting the fish from the tanks for them to purchase.

Aside from being an expert in the fish department, Amanda directs customers throughout the store when they are looking for certain items. Amanda has been known to recommend certain cat products based off her own personal use with her animals.

In a quest to work full time, Amanda has recently taken a second job at ShopRite in Timonium to completely fill her week with work. At ShopRite, she utilizes her pleasant personality to assist customers with bagging items and stocks the beauty supply aisle.

Amanda’s dedication and hard work has allowed her to build many strong community relationships and increase her independence. Amanda looks forward to many more years of working and helping customers.
