October 1, 2024

BaltimorePenn-Mar Human Services, the region’s leading provider of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), is proud to welcome Deric Emry and Jason Polun to the Penn-Mar Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Deric Emry has actively participated in the Penn-Mar Foundation Investment Committee for more than two years and knows the organization well. He and his wife, Felicia, frequently attend Penn-Mar’s yearly Gala fundraiser, and are consistent supporters of the nonprofit’s mission through their generous contributions. Emry has a personal connection to Penn-Mar’s cause. He and his family live in Lutherville, Md.

Emry specializes in venture capital, investments, and private equity. He is currently the senior managing director of Private Equity at StepStone Group. Before joining StepStone, Deric was a venture partner at Greenspring Associates. Additionally, he chairs Tiger 2, an organization that unites high net-worth entrepreneurs, investors, and executives.

Jason Polun and his wife, Becky, became involved with Penn-Mar through the Gala, thanks to Penn-Mar Foundation Board Member Anthony Gallo, in addition to having a personal connection. He and his wife have continued to provide substantial support for Penn-Mar. Polun currently serves as director of research at T. Rowe Price where he has been for over 17 years.  He serves on several non-profit and for-profit boards and brings a strong strategic acumen to the table.

“It’s because of the dedication of our boards that Penn-Mar has been able to flourish and have such a bright future,” says Penn-Mar Chief Advancement Officer Kathy Rogers. “From the moment Deric and Jason shared their interest in joining the Foundation board, it was clear they’d be an ideal fit, both because of their professional background and their personal family connection. I look forward to working with them as we focus on Penn-Mar’s continued growth.”
