What is your job title? Enabling Technology Coordinator
What’s an average day like for you? It varies from day to day. Connecting with Assistive Technology organizations and resources within Maryland and Pennsylvania. Working with team members and the people we support to find technology solutions to increase their independence, connect with their community, and communicate.
What’s one thing you wish people realized about your job? Assistive Technology is an amazing resource for our Penn-Mar community. It creates new opportunities for our team members and the people we support. Technology solutions can be the game changer for everyday challenges & can break down barriers. Include me during a person’s PCP/ISP planning meeting. I enjoy problem-solving, collaborating with team members, connecting people to resources, gadgets, and gizmos. Why is Penn-Mar’s mission important to you? Living courageously helps me thrive in our IDD community where we frequently encounter obstacles, organizational culture challenges, and the ability to empower team members and people we support.
What’s one thing you wished the general public knew about people with IDD? People frequently underestimate what people with IDD can do.
What’s your favorite food? Mexican
Any hidden talents or fun facts someone wouldn’t know about you? I laugh a lot.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, you’d visit . . . Anywhere a cruise ship will sail.
