How long have you been with Penn-Mar? Almost 3 months.

How did you get connected with Penn-Mar? I saw they were hiring on Indeed for an Administrative Assistant position. I did further research to see what Penn-Mar is & loved the company!

What was your previous work experience prior to Penn-Mar and how did it prepare you for your current role? I have previous experience in the administrative field & this has prepared me for my current role by knowing how to handle curve balls.

What does your work entail? My work entails the typical administrative duties. I manage a lot of behind-the-scenes work, like assisting with new hires and events, or gathering documentation. I handle monthly projects like the gas audit, CTS, & OPS.

What’s an average day like for you? Every day is different, but I use a lot of Excel & SharePoint. I assist in making sure items are up to date.

What is your favorite part of your job? The people I work with! Penn-Mar is a breath of fresh air. I enjoy helping others.

What’s one thing you wish people realized about your job? You need to be organized & be on the ball.

In another life, your career path is . . . Realtor & Interior Designer. I love looking up houses, this is how I found my first house & my most recent forever home. I love the endless possibilities & challenges of designing a space to make it your own.

Why is Penn-Mar’s mission important to you? Everyone deserves to live their best life & I think that takes courage.

What’s one thing you wished the general public knew about people with IDD? People with IDD should be viewed no differently than people without IDD.

What is your favorite quote or mantra? Without struggle there is no progress.

Any hidden talents or fun facts someone wouldn’t know about you? Fun fact: I used to hate cooking.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, you’d visit . . . Banff, Canada – it’s breathtakingly gorgeous.

In your spare time, you’ll be found . . . Cooking, baking, having a bonfire, playing pool, playing Sequence, or ice skating.

A book, movie, TV show, sports team, etc. you love: Favorite Movie: Mrs. Doubtfire, Favorite TV show: Yellowstone

Something fun, interesting, or meaningful about yourself: I live on 6 acres with my fiancé, Doug & our 3 year old German Shepherd named Griffey.
