On Sunday May 17th, the York Marathon was held in York, Pennsylvania. This 26.2 mile run covered the streets of York City as well as a portion of the Rail Trail.Ā The Black Sheep, a running group of older people, organized āThe Big Push ā People Helping Peopleā pushing people with disabilities the last three-quarter mile of the race. Individuals Penn-Mar serves were invited to participate. While it was a rainy day, each individual had a huge smile and seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.Ā The highlight for theĀ individuals was meeting Loretta Claiborne and receiving medals presented by her. Loretta Claiborne is an American global speaker who competes in the Special Olympics.
